ultimate june

June 24, 2010

i had one of the most interesting june holidays ever. hurhur. first it was shanghai then it was vietnam. not bad i say considering last year was super mono and lifeless and not something blog-worthy. i would really like to blog about both of these trips but most of the pictures are already up on facebook so my post might be a little late and redundant. aiyah, heck care lah.

before that, i had a peek at my previous entries and errr embarrassed to admit but i had a lot writing errors which does not show my real writing capabilities :p did not really blog that much the past few months maybe coz i kinda forgot about this little ranting outlet but it did serve me well when i need it most k.

shanghai -

was such an eye-opener. was there even before school break hahahaha and yeah enjoyed my whole 5 days in the city. kinda miss it now though. i went in the spring so the weather was quite coldish and airy-breezy  (did i just made up my own expression??) so got to wear(finally) my h&m sweater i got for my birthday where it is especially cold at night but i love it ttm k. went to the french concession where the french had their quarters during colonial time for dinner – which was so so. i enjoy the food in shanhai second after the weather especially near this stretch of street where they sell oysters and clams and this cute little crayfish shrimpish lookalike that had very little meat. *drooolzxzx* anyway, i also had a chance to go to the world expo. very nice buildings and all but i totally hate the crowd man i cannot take urghhhhh arggh knnccb so many freaking people cannot tahan. the day after i went to the expo, i read on a newspaper(china one leh, quite interesting) that there were more than half a million visitors on the day i went. kb no wonder it was so crowded. never seen so many chinese people in my life. at half point, i could not even see the difference between two chinese man -.- but shanghai was nice. pretty clean and i actually went for friday prayers at this mosque. i felt good mixing with paki men and some mixed mongol chinese dude and eating pita bread and central asia’s version of satay. oh yeah, got a glimpse of their nightlife as well…slow much?

vietnam -

not much to talk about but i enjoyed the shopping and company most. i had a good time knowing people i generally dont mix with in school and they were cool people. helping pave the orphanage was quite an unforgettable experience and i did not know i could sweat that much. ben thanh market was like singapore’s bugis street except that we could bargain the price. couldnt get the desired price i wanted for most of my purchases but very happy with the end result.

i think that is all.

xoxo
